What if dolphins had legal standing, not just our sympathy?
This campaign reimagines marine protection through the lens of justice, giving dolphins a voice in the legal system. By blending activism with approachable visuals, it calls for a world where non-human life is not just preserved, but recognised and defended.

BRIEF
UAL LCC GMD year 2 Advocate! brief
Dolphins near Jeju face mounting threats, from marine pollution to illegal capture, yet existing laws offer limited, inconsistent protection.
To move beyond passive conservation, I launched a campaign promoting environmental personhood: the belief that dolphins deserve legal status and rights.
Legal recognition transforms advocacy.
When non-human animals are granted rights, harm can be challenged in court — not just debated in public opinion.
This shift reframes animal protection as an issue of justice and accountability, not just empathy.
I led a campaign that merged legal advocacy with emotionally engaging visuals: anchored by a bold, friendly dolphin character.
Through zines, posters, badges, and T-shirts, we translated complex legal ideas into accessible public-facing media.
The campaign also spotlighted Hot Pink Dolphins, a Korean marine nonprofit, by sharing their mission and donation links. (bridging awareness and real-world action)
