Since joining The London Standard as a design intern, I’ve contributed across the company’s visual output. I led the redesign of outdated social media templates that were failing to capture algorithmic traction due to a lack of distinction from other outlets. The new, clean design significantly boosted engagement—breaking viewership records within days of launch, despite going live at the end of the month.
I also created digital composites for online articles and took weekly ownership of a newspaper page layout, combining editorial precision with strong visual storytelling.
Before (lack of distinction from other outlets)
-
Most news outlets used a basic format with white text over a black gradient, resulting in little visual distinction between them
After
-
The new template I designed introduced clear category labels and a unique visual style, helping posts stand out while remaining easy to read.
-
As a result, views increased by 128%, with nearly 60% from non-followers, and weekly follower growth rose by 4%
