Telephone (2022)
This project is a book design of Telephone by Percival Everett. After analysing the novel, I focused on three key themes: loss, avoidance, and attachment. These were expressed visually through abstract symbols, silhouettes, and a foldable structure that reflects emotional distance.

Blue was chosen as the main colour to represent melancholy and detachment, referencing International Klein Blue. The cover features a die-cut hole symbolising absence, while the inner layout uses varying typography and black pages to distinguish reality from dreams.

The final book was produced using screen printing and coptic binding, with careful material selection and multiple design iterations. This project allowed me to explore narrative through physical form, combining emotional depth with experimental design.
