The Valuable 500 is a global collective of over 500 companies working to end disability exclusion. They drive change through leadership prioritization, closing the disability data gap, and ensuring authentic representation and accessibility. To promote their mission and advertise the upcoming SYNC25 Accountability Summit in Tokyo, I have created a campaign to raise awareness of their work and vision for an inclusive future.
People with disabilities often face exclusion due to narrow, limited perceptions of what disability looks like. Media typically highlights a small set of visible disabilities—such as wheelchair users or physical impairments—leaving those with rare or invisible disabilities overlooked. I wanted to avoid this selective representation in the campaign, as focusing on only a few types of disability would further marginalise those already underrepresented. That’s why I chose shapes as a metaphor to reflect the diversity of disability. By showing different shapes working together and overlapping, the campaign highlights that workplaces flourish when they embrace diverse talents and perspectives. Inclusion isn’t about forcing people into a mould but recognising that every “shape” adds value, creating a richer, more dynamic whole.
One of the key metaphors in my project is the circle: a circle might lose half of itself and become a semi-circle, but through connection and addition, it transforms into something even more beautiful. This represents how differences, when embraced, create strength and enrich workplaces, highlighting the value of every unique contribution.
